Art in Education

As a senior at Richland Collegiate High School, Aubrey Allison worked in the Spring semester of 2010 to complete a Capstone Project. She researched and composed a scholarly paper to explore the benefits of art in primary education and argue for greater funding for art programs in public primary schools.

To supplement her research, she has composed an art curriculum for third, fourth, and fifth graders, designed to teach awareness of the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals as well as fundamentals of visual art. During January, February, and March of this year, Miss Aubrey taught her curriculum to students at a local elementary school. Please explore the results!
